Brushing



Brushing your teeth at least twice daily is important to remove plaque. If plaque isn’t removed it continues to build up, feeding on food debris left behind and causing tooth decay and gum disease.



Brush using a small headed soft textured tooth brush for a minimum 2 minutes paying extra attention to the gum line and hard-to-reach back teeth. Clean the outer surfaces first, then the inner surfaces followed by the chewing surfaces.

Flossing



Plaque and food particles can accumulate between your teeth and under the gum line. They can cause gum disease and tooth decay in areas where a toothbrush can’t reach. Flossing removes the plaque and food debris from these areas.

Gently curve the floss around each tooth making sure you go beneath the gum line. Don’t snap the floss between the contacts as this may injure or strip the gum tissue. Daily flossing and/or using inter-dental brushing is recommended.
